The Sparrodent is the descendent of sparrows that colonized Antarctica along with finches and have become one of the most commonly seen animals in Antarctica. This species of sparrow plays a role similar to that of small rodents such as mice. Sparrodents live in small burrows and feed on seeds, small berries and arthropods. They are also known to hitch rides on the larger quadrupedal descendants of finches even though sparrodents usually tend to keep their distance from larger animals to avoid being preyed upon or being accidentally stepped on.
